Who are Axfords ....
Axfords is a unique company, which mixes Victorian traditions with modern technology to supply corsets worldwide, both retail and wholesale. They are a privately owned family business that's over 120 years old established in 1880. They moved to their present factory in the centre of Brighton (on England's south coast) 40 years ago.  Michael Hammond took over as owner from thier mother Jean 15 years ago.

Axfords pride ourselves on the quality of their garments, their high standard of customer care and the speed of delivery. All corsets are made in the factory, and (unlike most modern garments, whose parts are made by different machinists, sewn together at the end), each corset is made from start to finish by one of their highly skilled corsetieres.

Putting on your Corset
It is useful to have someone assisting, but it is possible to put your corset on without help. Corsets are delivered laced up at the back with two long loops at the waist. Loosen off the lacing then put the corset round you and fasten the front busk; do the top clasp first and the rest should follow,  click to continue.....

Choosing the right Corset for you
When purchasing a Axfords corset, you may want to take a moment to read Choosing the right corset for some tips on getting the right fit.

How to choose the correct size Corset
Each corset has its own type of figure it suits best, please measure;

BUST: around the fullest part of the bust (which will NOT be the same as bra size), whilst wearing a supportive, but not padded bra

WAIST: around the narrowest part of the waist

HIPS: around the fullest part of the of the hips

As a guideline, ordering a size around 4”/10cm smaller than their natural waist size tends to give a good fit. However, if one part is particularly large or small in proportion to the rest (e.g. small bust, large hips) there may be a problem. If you are not sure what size corset to order ask us for advice.
